Discover one of Thailand's prettiest cities, bursting with architectural and cultural treasures: Ayutthaya.
You will board a bus which will take you to Ayutthaya, where you will first visit Bang Pa-in, the former summer residence of the 17th/18th-Century Thai Royal Family. You will wander in the huge gardens of the Bang Pa-in Palace, full of ponds, rivers, trees and pagodas. You will then enter one of the principal houses of the Bang Pa-in palace, the Wehat Chamroon, made entirely from materials imported from China.
Your tour of Ayutthaya will then continue, as you visit the Wat Phananchoeng monastry, before heading for the Wat Yai Chaimongkhon temple where you can admire the pagodas and a giant seated Buddha.
You will take a break for your lunch in a restaurant by the Chao Phraya river before you stop to admire the biggest bronze Buddha in Thailand.
Your guide will then take you to the Wat Phra Si Sanphet temple, situated in the compounds of the Ayutthaya Royal Palace. Take a moment to take in the original Emerald Buddha statue, which is replicated in Bangkok. Your guide will tell you the history of the three Sri Lankan Pagodas where the three kings of the Ayutthayan Empire lay to rest.
You will then head back to Bangkok by bus after a day of exploration!
