Descripción

Set off for a day of discovery and remembrance on the battlefields of the First World War in Flanders, departing from Brussels

You'll leave Brussels by bus for the Ypres region of Flanders.

During the journey, your multilingual guide will introduce you to the historical outlines of the conflict, the key events and their impact on the Flanders region.

Your first stop will be a German military cemetery, before continuing with a visit to preserved trenches, which offer a glimpse of the extreme conditions soldiers faced. You'll discover how these strategic locations were used to protect, attack and survive.

You'll stop at the Resting Soldier Monument, a structure dedicated to the Canadian troops who left their mark on the history of battles fought in this region. You'll also discover Hill 60, a strategic site where fierce fighting took place, accompanied by explanations of the tactical importance of this location.

The tour also includes a visit to the Flanders Fields Museum in Ypres. This interactive museum will immerse you in the history of the war through poignant stories, period objects and exhibits that trace the lives of soldiers and the human consequences of this global conflict.

You'll stop off at the Passchendaele (Passendale) battlefield and visit Tyne Cot Cemetery, the largest Commonwealth cemetery in the world, where British, Irish, Australian and Canadian soldiers are buried.

At the end of the day, you'll attend the Last Post ceremony at Menin Gate. This daily tribute, held since 1928, honors fallen soldiers and is a profound moment of recollection.

You will then return to Brussels in the early evening.
