Set off from Brussels to discover the charming city of Bruges and its canals, on a luxury, private excursion!
Your guide will collect you from your hotel in a private car and take you to Bruges. The little Belgian city is a real outdoor museum, having survived two world wars totally intact.
Begin your tour with a 30-minute cruise on the canals of the city, in order to admire Bruges from the water.
You will then head to the Groeninge Museum, where you can see the works of the most famous Belgian painters from the 15th century to the present day, including Van Eyck, Magritte, Memling and Paul Delvaux.
Your guide will then take you to the College of Europe, where the elite students of the European Union are taught.
You will then have a free time for lunch.
After your meal, you will head to Burg Square and see the City Hall and its prestigious Gothic Chamber.
You will then continue towards the Grand-Place and the Belfort. Then, listen to the chiming of the Belfort’s 47 bells before going to Saint Salvator’s Cathedral, built in the 10th century.
You will then get to enter the medieval Saint John’s Hospital, which is now a museum mostly dedicated to one of the most famous Flemish painters: Hans Memling.
Your final stop will be at the Beguinage of Bruges, a medieval institution that is still home to nuns of the Order of Saint Benedict.
Your driver will take you back to Brussels at the end of the day.
