Cross the Amazon rainforest to reach the Gocta waterfall accompanied by your guide!
Your day begins in Chachapoyas, from where you will set off with your guide. You will then head into the Utcubamba river valley to reach the village of Cocachimba. This is where you begin your hike to the waterfall, through the thick green of the Amazon rainforest. During the walk, you'll enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding valley and catch a glimpse of the Gocta waterfall in the distance!
You'll also pass through local farmland and spot wildlife typical of the region, such as the "Gallito de las Rocas", Peru's national bird. You will then reach the bottom of the waterfalls and enjoy the sheer beauty of the Gocta Cataracts, the third highest waterfall in the world! Throughout the tour, your guide will share stories and anecdotes about this tropical region.
You will then take a return journey to Cocachimba to relax and enjoy lunch in a local restaurant. To finish this excursion, you will return to Chachapoyas in the late afternoon.
