Explore the archaeological site of Sacsayhuaman and enjoy the views of Cuzco!

Head towards the archaeological site of Sacsayhuaman in the heart of the Sacred Valley from your hotel in Cuzco.

Your first stop is Tambomachay, where you'll see a spring and two fountains built by the Incas. Continue to the remains of Qenqo, a sacred sanctuary built in the form of a maze with an altar at the centre.

You'll then visit the fortress of Sacsayhuaman and enjoy the breathtaking views of Cuzco. You'll be in awe of this impressive 13th century citadel composed of numerous buildings and surrounded by stunning landscapes. The citadel is shaped like the head of a puma, a sacred animal among the Incas.

Your final stop will be at the Pucca Pucara tower, which was part of Cuzco's defence system.

At the end of your day exploring the sites of Sacsayhuaman, you'll be driven back to your hotel.

  • Availability: every day (except in exceptional circumstances)
  • Departure times and location (exact time will be confirmed after booking): pick-up is at your Cuzco hotel between 7:30 and 8 am
  • Please note: you must have the BTC Boleto Turistico Del Cuzco (entry pass for the archaeological sites) to be able to access the archaeological sites! These passes are available for purchase at the Lima tourist office or directly on site for 70 Peruvian sol (about €17). Different pass options are available depending on the duration desired and the sites included
  • Only certain hotels are covered by the provider; you must contact the provider to arrange your pick-up
  • Due to the extreme altitude conditions, this tour is not recommended for people with respiratory or heart problems. In addition, we advise against overexerting yourself during this tour.
