Discover the monasteries and remains of the Byzantine Empire that marked the history Istanbul between the 4th and 15th centuries!
Accompanied by your guide, you'll will travel to Fener, a district of Istanbul, to see the city's Patriarchate which dates from the Byzantine era.
You will continue your visit to the St. Mary of Blachernae basilica in this northern district of Istanbul. Here you will discover a sacred shrine built in honour of the Virgin Mary.
We then arrive at the Church of the Holy Saviour in Chora, one of the most beautiful examples of a Byzantine church, built in the 5th century. Marvel at the frescos and mosaics of that time, and the giant domes.
The tour will end near the city walls of Istanbul, which at the time surrounded the Acropolis of Byzantium.
