Discover Istanbul from different angles through an excursion combining culture, navigation and exceptional panoramas!
Your day will start with a pick-up at one of the meeting points, in downtown Istanbul. Aboard an air-conditioned vehicle, you'll pass the Valens Aqueduct, an impressive vestige of the Roman Empire, which once supplied the city with water.
Your first stop will be the Süleymaniye Mosque, one of Istanbul's most majestic, built during the reign of Suleyman the Magnificent. This architectural masterpiece designed by Mimar Sinan, famous architect of the Ottoman court, will fascinate you with its imposing dome and magnificent ornamentation. You'll also visit several historic tombs located within its walls:
- The tomb of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent, one of the most powerful rulers of the Ottoman Empire.
- The tomb of Hürrem Sultan (Roxelane), Soliman's influential wife, known for her major role in the Empire's history.
- The tomb of architect Mimar Sinan, designer of many of Istanbul's iconic buildings.
After this immersion in Ottoman history, you'll join the picturesque Balat district, known for its colorful houses and authentic atmosphere. You'll stroll through its narrow streets, discover its charming stores and learn more about this multicultural neighborhood.
A lunch in a local restaurant will then be offered, where you'll enjoy traditional Turkish specialties.
The excursion will continue with a cruise on the Bosphorus, a highlight of the day. You'll sail between Europe and Asia, admiring iconic monuments such as Dolmabahçe Palace, Leander's Tower and the suspension bridges linking the two continents.
In the afternoon, you'll take in the sights by joining the Pierre Loti café, famous for its breathtaking view of the Golden Horn. You'll take the telefer up to the top and enjoy a relaxing moment admiring the unique panorama of Istanbul.
At the end of the day, you'll be driven back to the starting point after an excursion rich in historical and cultural discoveries.
