Set off from Frankfurt to spend a day discovering Baden Baden and Heidelberg!
Travel to Heidelberg, the first destination of the day, by bus. Upon arrival, your guide will take you to see the ruins of Heidelberg Castle. The site features vast terraced gardens, a great tower split in half and one of the biggest wine barrels in the world, the “Heidelberg Tun”.
You’ll then make your way down to the city centre for a walk through the picturesque streets of the historic centre accompanied by your guide. Your guide will point out the main monuments of the city including the university, which is the oldest in Germany.
You will be provided with a packed lunch before getting back on the bus to head west for Baden Baden on the fringes of the Black Forest.
Known for 2,000 years for its thermal springs, the town of Baden Baden has come through the ages to earn itself an international reputation as an elegant spa town.
You will be taken to Kurhaus, a spa complex, to visit its gardens and casino.
Your guide will then lead you deep within the Black Forest to Lake Mummelsee, an Ice-Age relic shrouded in mysterious legends that your guide will relate to you.
After taking a break at the lake, you’ll get back on the bus and return to Frankfurt for the early evening.
