Discover Tequila and its distilleries on an excursion departing from Guadalajara with tequila tasting!
You'll start your day with a pick-up at your hotel in Guadalajara. You'll then hit the road to the Tequila region, in the heart of the state of Jalisco, accompanied by your certified bilingual guide. Along the way, you'll see the landscape change to give way to the great fields of blue agaves, emblematic of the region and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
You'll first visit a traditional distillery to better understand the origin and manufacture of tequila, Mexico's national drink. You'll discover the various stages of production, from harvesting the agave piñas to cooking, fermentation, distillation and aging. This guided tour of the facilities will enable you to learn more about local know-how and the specific characteristics of this emblematic spirit.
During the excursion, you'll also take part in a tequila tasting. You'll learn to distinguish the aromas and flavors specific to the different varieties, while deepening your knowledge of this tradition deeply rooted in Mexican culture.
Depending on the option chosen, you'll continue your day with a visit to the famous Jose Cuervo distillery, one of the world's best-known houses. Here you'll discover its history, heritage and role in the international influence of tequila. You'll also pass by the agave fields, where you can observe this characteristic landscape up close and better understand its cultural and historical importance in the region.
You'll then enjoy some free time in the village of Tequila. You can stroll its colorful streets, discover its local stores, observe its lively atmosphere and sample the region's specialties at your own pace. This free stop will complete your day between heritage, local culture and craft traditions.
At the end of the excursion, you'll take the road back to Guadalajara, where you'll be dropped off at one of the three proposed return points.
