Enjoy a trip to the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and visit the must-see sights in and around Hilo Town on Big Island!
Hilo is a coastal town located on the north-east side of Hawaii Island (Big Island), at the base of the impressive active Mauna Loa and dormant Mauna Kea volcanoes. The most populated city on the island, it also attracts visitors who flock to its breathtaking natural sites: from lava flows to waterfalls and black sand beaches, this trip to the eastern side of Hawaii will leave you with unforgettable memories!
Known as "Big Island", Hawaii Island is the largest in the Hawaiian archipelago. It's home to the famous Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. Located on the south-eastern side of Hawaii Island, it's home to two active volcanoes: "Kilauea", one of the most active volcanoes in the world, and "Mauna Loa", the highest volcano in the world. Parts of this 88,000-hectare park are closed to the public as they are either protected areas or zones considered too dangerous.
