Take in panoramic views of Hiroshima on a morning hike up Mt. Futaba, and enjoy a traditional outdoor tea ceremony in a peaceful forest setting!
You’ll meet your guide at Hiroshima Station in the morning, choosing from two available start times. After a short introduction to the trail and sites you'll visit, your hike will begin.
Your first stop is Hiroshima Toshogu Shrine, located at the base of Mt. Futaba. Surrounded by traditional architecture and cultural heritage, it sets the tone for a meaningful and immersive journey.
Next, you'll follow the trail through Kinko Inari Shrine, easily recognized by its series of red torii gates leading up the mountainside. After the climb, you’ll reach the Peace Pagoda, perched at the summit of Mt. Futaba. From this viewpoint, you'll enjoy a sweeping panorama of Hiroshima—and on clear days, even Miyajima Island and the Seto Inland Sea.
Your guide will then prepare matcha green tea during a traditional Nodate, an open-air Japanese tea ceremony. This moment of calm in a natural setting will be followed by a forest bathing session (shinrin-yoku), a Japanese practice of reconnecting with nature through peaceful immersion in the forest.
The activity will conclude back at the meeting point after approximately 3 hours of hiking, culture, and relaxation.
