Enjoy a unique spiritual experience by visiting sacred Buddhist and Hindu sites in Nepal!
You'll meet your guide and the rest of the group in downtown Kathmandu, and take a taxi to Bodnath, one of the largest and most important stupas in Nepal. Stupas are cylindrical Buddhist monuments that usually contain relics and are shrines where people often meditate.
You'll begin your spiritual experience by spinning prayer wheels just like the locals do, as you walk around the stupa's white dome. Afterwards, you can offer prayers to Buddha by lighting a traditional butter lamp.
After this spiritual experience, you'll go to Pashupatinath temple, Nepal's largest Hindu pilgrimage site, which is a 15-minute walk away. You'll learn more about Hindu beliefs and, if you like, get a palm-reading.
You'll then attend one of the many cremations along the Bagmati River, and may even catch a glimpse of sadhus (ascetic monks). Finally, as the sun sets, on the banks of the river you'll be able to watch the daily "Aarati", an offering of light to the deity Pashupatinath.
At the end of the tour, you'll be taxied back to the set-off point.
