You'll love the authentic charm of Tinos, famous for its cultural heritage, picturesque villages and idyllic beaches!
Meet-up is at 12pm at Mykonos New Port, where you'll be given your tickets for the crossing, as well as a summary of the day's outing. After a short ferry ride (30 minutes), you'll disembark in the port of Tinos. You'll meet your guide and board a comfy, air-conditioned coach.
Tinos is the largest of Mykonos's neighbouring islands and is an authentic Greek destination dotted with traditional villages and famous for the production of white and grey marble mined at the marble quarries in the north of the island. This type of marble can be seen at Buckingham Palace in London and the Louvre in Paris.
Tinos is home to Greece's most important church, the impressive "Evangellistria"which was built to house the miraculous "Megalochari" icon. During the coach tour you'll visit the church, the dovecote valleys, traditional villages (where you can enjoy a lunch of local specialities in a taverna with great views) and the Megalochari convent, with its picturesque views and magnificent architecture.
You'll also stop in Pyrgos,the main marble-producing town, where even the bus stop is made of solid marble. You'll visit a marble worker in their workshop and the village of Volax, famous for its basket-weaving tradition and large granite boulders that dot the landscape.
On your return to Tinos, you'll have some free time to shop and relax on the seafront before catching the ferry back to Mykonos. ETA Mykonos around 10.10pm.
