Dive into the world of Edgar Degas by visiting his historic home in New Orleans!

On this tour, you'll explore the home where the famous Impressionist painter stayed from 1872 to 1873. Guided by his great-grandnieces, you'll discover the family history of the Degas and Musson families, as well as the influence of New Orleans on his work.

The tour begins with a screening of the award-winning documentary "Degas in New Orleans, a Creole Sojourn", offering an in-depth look at his stay in Louisiana. Next, you'll tour the various rooms of the house, including the studio where Degas created 18 paintings and 4 drawings during his stay. Reproductions of his works adorn the walls, recreating the artistic ambience of the period.

The tour continues with a guided stroll through the surrounding Creole neighborhood. You'll discover the places mentioned in Degas' letters, enriching your understanding of his environment and inspiration.
