Enjoy a coastal hike on the island of Mallorca, from the village of Sant Elm to the monastery of La Trapa!
Start your adventure in the charming village of Sant Elm, located on Mallorca's southwest coast. This picturesque village offers beautiful views of the sea and the neighboring island of Sa Dragonera. Before starting your hike, take time to explore Sant Elm's narrow streets and enjoy a coffee or snack to build up your strength.
The trail to La Trapa monastery starts near the seafront or on the outskirts of the village. Leaving Sant Elm, the trail climbs into the hills of the island's interior, offeringstunning views of the Mediterranean Sea along the way. Be prepared for some upward sections, but the panoramas are well worth it.
You'll crossrocky paths and wooded sections, offering a varied and engaging hiking experience. Take breaks to admire the coastal scenery and take photos.
After a few hours' walking, you'll reach themonastery of La Trapa, a peaceful mountain sanctuary founded in the 19th century. Take the opportunity to explore its chapel and surrounding gardens.
The return hike follows the same trail. Take your time on the descent, as some sections can be steep or rocky. On your return to Sant Elm, enjoy a well-deserved moment of relaxation in the village where you can if you wish enjoy a meal in one of the local restaurants or bask on Sant Elm's pretty beaches.
