Head to Bavaria to discover the Eagle's Nest, a former Nazi Party lodge, and enjoy its panoramic views of the Alps!
You'll meet your guide in the centre of Salzburg and take the road towards the German border. You'll travel as far as Bavaria and in particular Obersalzberg, a tourist resort in the heart of the Upper Bavarian mountains.
There you will board a second bus, specially equipped to reach the Eagle's Nest, which will take you along a 4-metre wide road. You'll continue your tour through a tunnel carved into the rock, then climb into a baroque-decorated lift that reaches the Eagle's Nest 124 metres higher, in 41 seconds!
You'll finally reach the Eagle's Nest, the Kehlsteinhaus, a chalet-like building given as a gift to Adolf Hitler on his 50th birthday and used as a social retreat for the Nazi party during the Second World War. Today, situated at an altitude of 1,834 metres, the Eagle's Nest is famous for its panoramic views of the Alps, and the restaurant within the building itself. Enjoy the incredible views and a guided tour of the Eagle's Nest.
On the way back, you'll stop at the village of Berchtesgaden, enjoy some free time to explore, then be driven back to Salzburg after your trip to Bavaria.
